New Drink Recipes for Your Home Bar Entertaining

Now that you have your new barstools you can begin planning your next party and this is the perfect time of the year to do just that. Though Christmas is over we have New Year’s upon us, and there is always a need for something new and different. Everyone is looking for something new, something that is tasteful but appealing but a little out of the ordinary. Instead of serving the same drinks you do every year, choose something that is different, something somewhat seasonal. It’s not difficult to do but it does mean you will need to do a little research if you are going to sway from the mundane drinks of yesterday.

As the guests sit on your contemporary barstools, why not serve them something different? Here’s a little something from The Recipe Box you might want to try:

Blue Champagne Cocktail

Ingredients:

1 oz vodka
¼ oz lemon juice
2-3 dashes triple sec
2-3 dashes Blue Curacao liqueur
Champagne

Combine all of the ingredients above except the champagne. Shake well in an ice filled shaker and strain into a champagne flute. Add champagne to a glass and serve.

It’s a little bit different because of the color and with New Year’s upon us, the blue of Christmas is still in the air. Champagne is a traditional New Year’s drink so as your guests sit at your pub table trying to decide what they want to drink you can suggest this one as a starter. The champagne is traditional and the blue color is so popular for contemporary seasonal decorating.

Although you will find many different drinks that you can choose for your home entertaining, finding something different your guests can enjoy while sitting around and chatting is a good way to break the ice among some of the guests who do not know one another. It might even be a good opportunity to share drink recipes so that you can try something entirely new at your next party.

Sitting at the bar on wood bar stools and sharing good conversation with your guests can make a good party a great party. Whether it’s the holiday season as it is now or just a fun party, you want to be able to add something new to make your guests want to come back for more. Don’t always serve the same drinks—find a new recipe and use it as an encouragement for your guests to come to all of your parties. That doesn’t mean that drinking should be the purpose of your party by any means but since your guests will expect to be able to drink, you want to make the drinks interesting. You will have those who will always drink the same thing no matter what you are serving, but there will be enough guests who are willing to try something new to make it a worthwhile task. If your guests have a favorite recipe, offer to let them make that drink.
