Can A Daybed Save Your Marriage?
Once in awhile, a little tiff can complicate a marriage. Unfortunately, it’s not uncommon for one argument to make sleeping in the same bed sound like a bad idea – or at least a very irritating one. Husbands (and sometimes wives) across the country often find themselves banished to the couch for a night or two while things in the house calm down. But what if it wasn’t a couch? What if it was a daybed with trundle?
The idea that a simple piece of furniture could help sounds a little far-fetched, but it provides a few things that a couch simply does not. Most daybeds do require some assembly. After all, getting a full size daybed from the warehouse to your house is usually an undertaking. If the two of you have a good time together, laughing as you attach the sides and the daybed frame, it can become not just a place to sit or sleep, but a holder of happy memories.
The trundle day bed can be especially handy should one of you have a change of heart. Whoever is sleeping in the bedroom can go straight to the daybed and pull out the trundle. When your partner wakes up, he or she will see you lying beside them and will know that all has been forgiven. It’s virtually impossible to do so on a couch. Daybeds are also much more comfortable than any couch. This means that the next morning, the person on the couch is likely to be grouchy and in no better mood than before. A good night’s sleep can help clear the mind and clear way arguments that seemed so important the day before.
